Update: The random team assignments will occur on June 2nd. Team trading will be available through 4 PM PST on June 4th. The break will occur on evening of the 4th. Cards will be mailed on the 7th.

SPA Pack Results and a Group Break Pimp

Hey everyone, I have been meaning to do this for a day now, but here is the official post to comment letting us know the results of your random packs if you got them. So far 3 people have commented their results in the original post and there should be 1 auto (usually a rookie auto or chirography of a vet) and the 1 material card auto (rookie patch auto or numbers auto, etc.) out there for sure. ***UPDATE: MATERIAL AUTO WAS OPENED BY GROAT....and it was a "bummer"***

SCU Breaks: May Box Busters Edition

Well it was an interesting break. Can't say it was the greatest, but also can't say it was the worst. This month gave us our 3rd ever "1 of 1" auto (and a Viking to boot) so that is good, but no big name autos and marginal star patches abounded.

***SPECIAL NEWS: June Box Buster's Club will be my last break at SCU for a good bit of time. I am switching jobs and will be occupied with my new position taking up most of my time. I hope to participate in the breaks that happen here on SCU but I just don't have time to run them monthly anymore. If you are interested in possibly taking over please contact Gellman.***

Monthly Box Break Club: May Flowers (FULL)

Alright folks, I know that it seems like we are dwelling in 2007 Product because of my fascination with it having the best Viking rookie of all-time. While that fact is true (it containing the best Viking rookie player of all-time), the real reason that we continue to have 07 products is because it right now has the best prices in order for us to maximize the possibilities of people getting nice cards. 2008 is still at a high price and probably could remain there because of Flacco and Ryan. Well to make a long story short we are back with some 07 product, but as usual a product that also has autos/material cards of past star players in order to at least get some nice cards outside the now shrinking 07 Rookie Class.

We will continue the **Bonus** part of the break in order for everyone to get something out of the break. Here are the details of the product for this month.

(3) boxes of 2007 Upper Deck Premier Football (each box/pack containing 3 material and 3 autos).

***ADDED BONUS: Those teams owned that do not get a hit will get (1) pack of 2008 SP Authentic Football. I will do the same thing as last month in terms of assigning those packs and opening any unclaimed packs and passing along any hits to break teams as usual***

###- As a new feature I am trying something new for the randomization. On the night I am to do the randomization I will do the video tape but also take a screenshot of each of the three results. Then before posting the results of the video, I will post the time stamps for each step of the randomization and the first person from the break to post will choose which step of the random progression they want and that will be the assignments. Even though I know this has never been an issue I believe this is the best scenario for making something as transparent and trustworthy as possible -###

April Showers usually indicate May Flowers, but in this case they equal fun little bonuses. Nothing has baffled me more than the fluctuating prices of National Treasures for all years over the past few months. One month some are between $220-240 and then bam two weeks later they are $330 or almost $400. Well we caught a down swing and I couldn't pass it up for us, so for April we will be doing (2) Boxes of 2007 National Treasures with an added bonus.

***Added Bonus: Along with the two boxes of 2007 National Treasures will be one box of 2008 Donruss Threads. All those slots which do not get a "hit" from the National Treasures will get a pack from the 08 Threads Box (so everyone gets something for their money). So say only 9 teams are represented by the "hits" from NT, then that would mean 23 packs of the Threads box would be divided between the 23 non-hit slots. The extra packs will be broken on video and any "hits" would be given to the teams owned in the break.***

As usual slots are reserved for those participating the month before and they have until March 31st to get their payments in to keep their reservation. On April 1st any slots not paid for will be available on a first come, first served basis. Details below:

This break had some sweet cards. In my humble opinion the subsets this year are the best designed of all the years. Kudos to DLP for a great looking product (minus those manufactured patch auto cards that should stay in Rookie and Stars, etc.)!
