Please do me a favor and check out the fucking pieces of shit over at Beckett's blog, watch the Razor video and sit back and fucking watch stupidity in action. I say stupidity, because you would have to be fucking retarded to post a video like that and not expect me to bring the pain all over again. At that point you just stick it in the "vault" and never let it see the light of day. Of course, Beckett is comprised of hundreds of arrogant fucks who think that only a "few people" dislike what they do, and therefore dont care if people think this is a scam of scams.
Now, in the video, they pull three cards out of three boxes that were PERSONALLY delivered by Brian Gray of Razor. They proceed to pull Pete Rose, Charlton Heston, and Lucille Ball (1/1), or three monster pulls out of a product chaulk full of unheard of actors and musicians. Three boxes, three great pulls, who would have guessed it right? Fuck that shit Mr. Gray, I hope your products fail like the shit they are.
I would challenge you to find people on this planet who have pulled as many monster pulls out of so few boxes than the cum dumpsters over at Beckett. Lets run down the new list after this box, and I will continue to add to it as they pull more whales. I say "when" because we all know they are arrogant and stupid enough to post more.
1. Vince Young Exquisite RC Patch Auto (Bigger pull out of the set at the time)
2. Joe Dimaggio Topps Sterling Jersey Cut Auto
3. Walter Payton/Brian Piccolo Dual Cut Exquisite Legends 1/1
4. Brady Quinn National Ridiculous Patch Auto 1/1
5. Adrian Peterson 1/1 Exquisite RC Patch Auto (Worth 5-8K)
6. Matt Ryan/Brian Brohm/Andre Woodson Triple Auto Rookie Progression (Best Card In Set?)
7. Charlton Heston Cut Auto Razor
8. Lucille Ball Cut Auto 1/1
9. Pete Rose Cut Auto
EDIT: 10. LaDanian Tomlinson Exquisite Base 1/1 (YES, the list is so long, I am beginning to forget cards)
How long will it be before we can no longer count the scams on two hands?
Seriously though, Im beginning to be more disgusted with their arrogance in these matters than the actual instances themselves. I mean the manufacturers are just as irresponsible. Its like Beckett just doesnt care why we think this is beyond awful, like they just dont understand how morally and ethically irresponsible it is to do what they do. They just assume that they are the number one source in the hobby, and because they are at the top they can fuck whoever they want to fuck. Since I am the only one who seems to present the evidence, it doesnt really go anywhere. I am small potatoes, I know that.
So, because I know that all the manufacturers read this blog, please, I implore you, talk to me for a few minutes before you send more boxes to these idiots. Send me an email and hear me out, hell, send an email to Mario at Wax Heaven, or Chris at Stale Gum, anyone - they will all tell you the same thing. We want this to end.
Its getting to the point where I may just say, "fuck all of you!" and start a petition just so you can
see how many people actually feel the way I do. Yes, 3,000 people may view your break on Beckett, but I can promise you that I can find JUST AS MANY people who will spit in your face.
The king of the douches may tell you that its only a few people because he is an arrogant disconnected fuck with no reason to tell you the truth, but I will not hesitate to spell it out. Fuck Beckett.

A Comment On Shipping Prices
Ok, im pissed. I want to buy a card on TWGM, but the shipping costs are astronomical. He wants 8 dollars for shipping, despite this only being one normal sized card. He mentions nothing in terms of insurance and when I emailed him, he said it was for packaging, handling etc. That is fucking bullshit. Basically this guy wants to recoup his fees, plus some, and per eBay, this is illegal.
Let me break this down:
Card cost: $65
Normal shipping cost per USPS: 2.20 (w/delivery confirmation)
Normal shipping cost plus insurance:$3.59
Bubble mailer: 89 cents at any walgreens or target
Total imaginable cost: 4 something?
Actual cost: probably less than 3 bucks
I charge 3 bucks for shipping when I sell something, please explain where he gets 8? That is almost double the price of shipping plus insurance! I guess my card will have to wait as this is fucking high way ass fucking robbery.

Colt Brennan Better Be The One Bidding On This Card

Here is the auction for the 1/1 Elite status for Colt "Golden Child" Brennan. I am in total shock that there is some JC out there who is going to pay this much for a card from a guy who may not even make the fucking team. This auction puts the Selvin Young ones to shame, and I think the hobby has reached a new low.
Guess what? Even if he actually makes it on to the field, throws 20 TD passes and 3,000 yards his first year, this card will still NOT be worth what this asshat is going to pay for it. That being said, he will not be starting for a long, long, long time as the Redskins have Jason Campbell, Collins, and another guy, BEFORE Brennan, and will not hesitate to draft a WORTHY QB in a higher round to replace Campbell if they need to.Besides, its not like Brennan put up stellar fucking numbers at a top school. He was good, in terms of a college QB, but was not pro-material because of his release point and range. He was also not all that and a bag of chips like the other 15 QBs that went in Rds 1-6.
Odds of Brennan starting within the next 5 years: 100-1
Odds of this guy being a loser at life: 1-1

Book Value Is The Bane Of My Universe
I really hate to devote more time to something like my crusade against "book value," but I am so angry over something that just happened, that I can barely function.
I was trading online with a guy that had a card I have been looking for FOREVER, when the unthinkable happened. I had a card he desperately wanted, as well, something that I know was not going to surface on TWGM anytime soon. Both cards are relatively valuable to everyone, but more so to us, due to the people we like. I thought a straight up deal would be great considering how rare both of the cards were, but I had no idea that he had something heinous in his repetoir. When he dropped the idiot bomb, the trade floundered and I almost did a Family Guy puke. BOOM, the I-bomb takes out my dream of owning this card.
Actual text from our conversation - SCU will be me, IBOMB will be him:
SCU - So you ready to go on this? I am so happy I found someone who was willing to trade for the card!
IBOMB - Yeah, no shit, I have been looking for this since 2 years ago. Yo, just one last thing though. My card books at $100, yours is only at $50, is there any way we could even this out?
SCU - Why, they both sell for about the same on eBay, what is the problem?
IBOMB - I trade by BV
SCU - Besides the fact that this is completely ridiculous, considering how much we both need the other's cards, go ahead and see if there is anything else I can add.
IBOMB - I don’t really see anything I need, can you throw in some paypal?
SCU - Sorry, money is tight right now, cant do it.
IBOMB - Ok, well, thanks for trying, I think Ill pass.
SCU - You are going to give up on a card you want because some book told you that yours is worth more, despite the obvious fact that it sells at similar price?
IBOMB - If I wanted to go by SV I would go on eBay
SCU - eBay is the true price guide anyway
IBOMB - whatever, it changes daily.
SCU - Yes, but the prices are still relatively similar. Its not like a 50 dollar sale turns into 600 the next day, it may go to 53 or 47, but those are still ball park.
IBOMB - Sorry, people screw each other using eBay values to trade
SCU - You know, im done with you, congrats on trashing a good trade. I hope one day you stop being such a fundamentalist. You may actually realize that eBay is the only value you should worry about.
SCU Signed off 10:16pm
Let me reinterate a few different things here. First being that book value is the worst possible way to determine the true value of a card. Last time I went over all the ways that BV is wrong, and it still pisses me off when people quote it like the bible. The general collecting public is the most asshat filled group in the history of man, only because they refuse to understand that the ways of the old are out of date. In a day where magazines and newspapers are on their way out, people still think Beckett is the end all and be all of card pricing, even though there is a free place to look where money is no good. I cant believe this douche let the card he wanted go because some guide created by people who enjoy skinning puppies told him it was worth more than it was. I even played along! I fed in to this guy's insanity!
I just wanted to tell him that creating a price guide as a monthly publication for a volitile product is like putting a price guide on stocks as a monthly publication. I mean, much like eBay is the TWGM for cards, the stock market is a similar place for the companies that are traded. Would you go by a book's value of the stocks or the true market value? I swear, don’t say eBay is fickle and it changes - that’s common for a lot of products. Smart people know that steady value of any commodity is a myth, so shove that crap up your Beckett loving ass.
Another common thing on the pulse these days is people complaining that Beckett has changed their format. Instead of once per month, they now publish bi-monthly with less info on cards. Like it fucking matters how often Tracy "Bratz" Hackler takes out his pricing hat and draws out the book values for the month. Yet, for some reason, people are pissed because they cant see how much their card is worth to some cock-spackler with a buzzcut every month. Whats even worse is that with the online price guide, Beckett actually has the tools to circulate an eBay based price guide. But, like the magazine, the OPG is only updated monthly, and it costs more money to subscribe to. Plus, those assholes are too self absorbed to even entertain the fact that they may be the idiots that we know they are.
Now, I found my trader on a message board of seemingly informed people, yet he still is one of those ass spelunkers who trades by BV instead of SV or even just need for the card. Need is all that was important to me, but the money grubber had his own monetary interests in his side. How shitty is that? Ill be sure to cite book value as one of the main reasons I stopped collecting, if and when that happens.

Entrapment
I have always wondered something about exquisite and national treasures - even triple threads. Why don’t the hits come in top loaders like sport kings or in uncirculated cases like box loaders? The packs are completely unsearchable and it should prevent a lot of damage to the card. Makes me wonder what kind of monkeys don’t think up this shit.
Advantages:
Prevents corner damage and other factory damage from when the people mess up the packaging.
Adds another level of complexity so that the donkey rapers would have a very tough time replicating the seals. Its still possible to fake, but it would be that much harder.
Takes business away from grading services. That’s a good one. Why send your encased card to BGS when its already in the case for good?
Easier to store the ginormously thick cards in their already primed holders. No need to figure out which point holder to buy. I hate that!!
Disadvantages:
Cases or loaders could be ugly and awful.
Raises cost of box, despite the fact that it shouldn’t. I would much rather have encased cards than an ornate box like NT and Exquisite both have.
Takes business away from people who sell supplies - still not that big of a deal.
In the end, we all just get screwed over again when we pull the box hit out of our pack and its destroyed. No one cares except for the guy who paid 500 bucks for a box that has damaged cards, right?
Personally I think all boxes should have encased hits anyways. It would save me the time with all the base and I wouldn’t have to worry about damage. I mean half the products are already going to tin form, why are they patronizing us by having us open packs inside them? Just give me my hits and shut the fuck up. I don’t need my 200 dollar box to have a pack in it (Im looking at you Exquisite Baseball and Triple threads), I just want good cards that arent damaged.
Really, is it that hard to give us what we want? Guess so, this industry is laden with ass jockeys.
