SCU Breaks: 2007 National Treasures (Slot Style)

Sometimes you get boxes that make you wish you didn't obsess over pieces of cardboard. These boxes are 2 of those in my opinion. Granted there are some nice cards, but the overall break could have been much better in my opinion. Win some you lose some I guess.

  2. Nice! I am loving the slot idea. It's so much better knowing that you are guaranteed something going in.

I am happy! Never owned a cut before. Looking forward to it. Thanks for the break HH.

  3. voluntarheel-

It is a really sweet cut too. I am torn on the slot idea. Nice knowing you are getting something, but also means you can't really kill it.

I think I am a bigger fan of the boom or bust of team slots.

  4. For my first ever group break im really happy. And thanks again for the trade holy, wish coulda hit 2 APs though ;). I need to try a team and draft break before i really decide which is my prefered method i suppose, but overall was cool to see it done this way and know that the next card coming out is mine, you know?

  5. Very sweet break. Those are very nice cards. 2007 NT has to be one of the best products produced and it really provides the most bang for your buck, IMO.

  6. I agree. This is my first group break and I liked knowing I was getting something.

The Quinn is nice eventhough I'm a die hard STEELERS fan!!

  7. The slot breaks are nice but can cost a quite a bit more than the team method. I think I am starting to come around to the National treasures/exquisite level stuff. 6 pretty good hits that you couldn't get in 6 boxes of normal stuff. Leaf limited seems to be the only thing that can come close dollar for dollar. 4-5 boxes of limited would be a good May break.

  8. The slot thing has never made any sense. There's no difference between that and just buying a pack of cards, except that someone else gets to have the fun of opening it. Then again, the person opening it doesn't even get to have the fun, because it's not for them.

Usually, you end up paying through the nose for a jersey or junk auto. You end up paying $35 for a chance at a cut auto, but more than likely getting an Antonio Gates patch card.

Teams makes it so much more fun.

  9. It's a gamble any way you cut it. I had the Panthers and Raiders in a Case break of SP Authentic on another site and got shut-out.

It's just fun to change formats every once in a while to keep things interesting.

  10. I thought the break was pretty decent. If anything, there were maybe a few too many Chiefs in there. Chuck Bednarik is one of my favorite old timers. After HS, he was a gunner in WWII. He went to college after the war and ended up in the pros after that. He's also extremely nice; he signed a TTM auto for me and returned it very promptly, which I find increasingly rare nowadays.
