A Comment On "Best Match" As eBay's Default Search

Fuck that.

Seriously. It royally sucks that every single time I go to TWGM and search for something, it automatically organizes the results according to best match. I dont fucking like that, it didnt used to be that way. I want it to automatically search and organize by ending soonest. I know exactly what I am looking for and I dont need you to match it up for me. If I did need that, I would do it from the drop down menu for the one fucking time I need it per year. God, so annoying.

That is all.

  1. Agreed. Every damn search takes two clicks now.

  2. Next to the "Sort By" box there should be a link to "Customize Display." Click there, and at the bottom there is "Search Sort By" drop down. There you can chose to sort the search by ending soonest.

    Hope that helps.

  3. Amen to that brother! Do you know of anyway to default to ending soonest? Better yet is there anyone out there that wants a best match list on TWGM?

  5. I think if you change your preferences you can get it to go to ending soonest permanently.

I'm not thrilled with the new "added value" shit that eBay has added recently.

  6. When you pull up your search save it. On your my ebay page click searches on the left. Click your search. It starts how you saved it. Ending soonest.

  8. You can tell that whoever came up with the new search options for the Sports card category on evilBay doesn't know jack about cards. The most annoying thing I've found is that when I search for a couple keywords under Sports Cards & Mem...> Cards > Baseball-MLB and then click on one of the options on the side, it shows results from all sports again. Also, the categories used to go ...Cards > sport > singles/rookies/lots/sets/boxes/etc. > graded/ungraded or so. Now, the upper options are stupid stuff like "original/reprint" and a couple others that almost never apply. Aargh!

  9. The reason they are doing this isn't about the buyer's ease of use, it's part of their damn policy of "continue to fuck the seller as a means of increasing revenue".

In addition to sellers not being able to leave negative feedback for slow paying, complaining, and/or unrealistic buyers, all sellers are graded on 5 criteria. The seller's score for all five categories is rated on a 5.0 scale. It is then measured against every other seller. If your score is 0.1 below the average for any ONE of the 5 categories your listing are not included under "best match" and thrown to the back of the listings
