Peterson Viking Head Number Four Now Up

I sincerely hope that people arent THIS stupid to bid on a card like the Viking Head Logo that was just posted on eBay. This is actually number four that has been listed, the third of the fakes. It could also be the worst ever posted, as you can see the colors, stitching, and material dont match any authentic jersey ever worn.

Of course, this one is so fucking bad, that Im not actually going to feel bad for the person who buys it. Now, the card still is a Peterson exquisite, so its worth something, but it shouldnt go for anywhere near the 21oo the last horrid fake went for. Considering that the people who buy on eBay are some of the dumbest people in the history of the world, I will not be surprised if this one ends in similar fashion.

Be sure to check out the other posts I have done on the Peterson fakes, including the Tuff Stuff article as well. Upper Deck better get on this shit before someone else burns a whole car worth of cash for clunkers money on a fake.

EDIT: Here is the counter auction, exposing him. H/t Kickstand.
EDIT 2: AUCTION HAS BEEN REMOVED

  1. Doesn't the /99 Peterson go for $1500+ anyway. Why ruin one of the best cards of the last...well ever if his career keeps going, to possibly make an extra $300 at the most or make the card worthless at the least?

  2. A single color AP Exquisite will only sell for $1100-$1200. Slap a Viking head on it and those who don't know any better will happily dish out $2100+ - that's a nice profit considering all you need is a replica jersey, a pair of scissors, and a pair of tweezers. By the way, there's a wonderful counterauction up that exposes the fuckface seller for what he is - check it out: Item# 220477232402

  3. Maybe this isn't a viable solution, but in 08-09 Topps Murad basketball, the hits - relics, autos, plates - were encased. It's kind of hard to explain, but if you look on eBay you might be/should be able to see what I mean.

I really can't think of a better way to make the relic windows tamperproof. It looked only slightly awkward at first with Murad. It would be ridiculous in a high-end product, I think ... won't know for sure until I see an example.

    So many questions needing answers.

  5. That's apauling, how is it possible to make such great looking fakes with serial numbers and logos and cutting out patterns for the jerseys/patches? Does upper deck respond at all to this matter?

  7. Maybe you just have to leave it up to the collectors to police things if the card companies won't. Exhibit A: http://www.exquisiterookies.com/blog/

It's not perfect, but it works. Takes time, takes effort.
