  1. Um, Mayo Cut Plug is the first football set ever. It basically is Allen & Ginter for football. If it's not your cup of tea, fine, but I don't see how this set is bullshit considering all the other retro sets out there.

  2. Not going to lie. This actually looks like a better product than Allen and Ginter. It's also a plus, because I am a football collector.

  3. Would you have preferred to have the Allen & Ginter brand come to Football??? That would have been a bit too much don't you think???

I think this is fine, due to the fact that P. H. Mayo inserted the first football (albeit college...no professional leagues at the time) into their tobacco tins.

Now the only thing I can see you complaining about is that Donruss came up with the idea first in 2002. Otherwise...

  5. In a way this is something cool that hasn't been done before. All the other Retro football sets were either old Topps designs or old baseball designs like Turkey Red. This is an honest to goodness vintage football card design. Now Retro sets in general? Yeah, that's been done to death. They'll keep doing it till it stops selling though.

  6. I actually like what I saw on that video. The Charlie Sheen and Willie Nelson cards make me chuckle, but I guess it'd be cool to pull one of those. Retro cards are nice in my opinion. I'm not a football fan, but If they put out a hockey set I'll eat it up.

  7. Ehh. My own personal preference is that I hate small cards. I also hate when your hit is Willie Nelson. But to each his own I guess. If it means that people will take their eyes of Contenders and let me pick up stuff cheap, then I am all for it.

  9. I don't even give a crap about football and I might buy a box. I'm a sucker for both retro and mini cards. Different strokes for different folks... I'm hoping my hit is a mini Willie Nelson beards 'n' buds relic card
