I just got an email from Topps announcing seven draft day auto cards that will only be available through the Topps online store. Here's the announcement. No price or print run yet, and you HAVE to be an online store registrant to buy, and you can ONLY buy one of each player. I just registered on the off chance that the cards will actually be reasonably priced. The list of players is stellar, pretty much including everyone I mentioned in my earlier post today:
- Michael Beasley
- Derrick Rose
- Jerryd Bayless
- OJ Mayo
- Brook Lopez
- Eric Gordon
- Kevin Love
Of course players are subject to change. Note though that these won't even be the first Topps cards for these guys, they ALL had McDonalds All-American cards, which have to be considered their true RCs. IN any case, hopefully these won't suck.
Let's start the bidding at $100. I bet that's near what they will be going for.
ReplyDeleteSave your pennies, because last year they wanted 400 bucks for the top picks and they still sold out in an hour. I imagine they'll probably try for 500 this year just to be fuckers.
ReplyDeleteThat is preposterous! $400 for rookies? Jordan's rookie card graded could be had for that price, are you telling me they are going to be better than Jordan? Come on sheep, wake up and realize you are being taken for a ride!
ReplyDeleteLets pray that Topps is not signing that list of guys to exclusive contracts. If they do, it would be good for them, bad for us. Right now their products are pretty much awful for BKB because they dont have bron, jordan, kobe, or any guys that matter. If they sign all these guys, people might still actually spend money on their shit.
