At the beginning of the 2007 NFL season, I had two goals. First was to build a nice football PC, and second was to end up with my two favorite cards of the year for All Day and Sidney Rice. Well, ladies and gentlemen, "WE GOT HIM!"
These beauts will be displayed right next to my other cards I am currently showing off. Sadly, I need to remember some cards that didnt make it to this day. Their memory will live on in my bucket for all eternity.

Everyone Should Have Goals

I Am Really Sick Of East Coast Teams/Fans
If there is anything about NFL fans that I hate, its Patriots and Giants fans. Ill tell you though, those fans cant hold the jock of Red Sox and Yankee fans. I have already talked about pricing for Joba being fucking ridiculous considering his role on the team, something I blame on the insanity that is Yankee fandom, but now I want to talk about people born and raised in OTHER states and even OTHER time zones.
I was watching the Twins lose to the Red Sox today and I hated hearing fans cheering loudly when they hit their 4 solo home runs. I think I even heard a faint "lets go Red Sox" chant during the 9th when they were mounting a rally. That sucks. Its just a plain fucking disgrace that people who live and were born in the area arent cheering for the Twins, AND that they are cheering rather for a completely unrelated team. I understand if you are from Boston and moved to Minnesota, fine, but not all you people from Edina who decided to root for the Red Sox because they were good when the Twins sucked. I loathe you people.
Ill recall a quote here from a writer who was obviously feeling the same way I am, "I dont know how you can root for the Yankees. Rooting for the Yankees is like rooting for the house in Black Jack." I put Red Sox fans outside of "Red Sox Nation" under this umbrella. You people are worse than Minnesota based Packer fans. At least the Packer fans tend to be nicer people.

A Cut Above III: Craziest Thing Ever Created
This auction is probably the craziest thing I have ever laid eyes on.
eBay Auction Ridiculosity
When this gets taken down, here is a picture just so you know how fucking unbelievable this thing is:
Here is a list of the cuts that are included:
Babe Ruth
Ty Cobb
Cy Young
Lou Gherig
Rogers Hornsby
Ted Williams
Pie Traynor
Honus Wagner
Roy Campanella
Yeah, try and digest that. Holy fuck. But 57k is a little much, Id rather have a Mercedes.
Its All a Bunch of Jibba Joba
I just have to talk about this, because personally, I think it is fucking nuts. I was going over some of the sell sheets for Baseball and I saw how much face time Joba Chamberlain is getting. He is the poster boy for 2008 Bowman Chrome and has more hobby love than I care to admit. This love-fest comes from three undisputed facts: he is a Yankee, his name is Joba, and he performed above expectations in the half year he was up.
My problem? HE IS A SET UP FUCKING RELIEVER. I don’t care if he turns out to be the Yankees second starter, he isnt worth this much of my precious time. If his name was Jerry and he played for St. Louis (still a big market city), he wouldn’t be worth 1/8 of his value right now. What this shows is that the Yankee sheep collectors are fucking ridiculously weird. Im not saying that Boston is much better, but I didn’t see Alan Embree on the hobby radar, ever.

First Look: Donruss Americana II
People loved Americana. LOVED IT. It was one of the first sets to be completely focused on celebrity autos and memorabilia, and it really didnt disappoint. It was structured very much like Absolute, so the price point wasnt bad for four hits.
Well, as you can probably guess, they wanted to do it again. Here comes the sequel, please dont feed it after midnight.
My only suggestion when releasing a sophomore version of a blockbuster set is to NOT MAKE IT THE EXACT GODDAMNED THING!! DLP has forgotten this golden rule and basically released series two of 2007 Americana. What the fuck were they thinking? The cards look exactly the same, down to the same subsets. Go find the sell sheet, you'll see what I mean.
Oh, and one more thing. What is the reason that every fucking set under the sun now includes at least one Boxing or UFC/MMA subset? Im curious why this has become so huge with 2008 products. I mean, last time I checked it was 2008 CoSigners BASEBALL, not 2008 CoSigners CLUSTERFUCK.

To my vast readership, all three of you, I just wanted to give a plug to the Sports Card Blog Directory over at Wax Heaven for featuring SCU on their Blog. Mario, the guy who writes Wax Heaven, may be one of the most visible guys in the blogosphere when it comes to our kind - thanks for helping out a fledgeling like myself.
If you havent checked out Wax Heaven, please do - it lives up to all the publicity it gets.
Another 1/1? Wow, thanks Topps.

A Cut Above II: It Gets Worse?
So, Topps is releasing a card containing Woodrow Wilson's sunglasses in Triple threads this year. Hey Topps, please keep on pillaging items that should be in museums. Granted, he isnt the most influential president, but still, this borders on insanity.
