I sincerely hope this is fake slab, for their sake. This auto is 100% fake, and as we can see, it has been graded by PSA. I thought it would only be a matter of time, but now its pretty obvious that either PSA has a bunch of amateurs, the fakers are now creating their own slabs, or someone cut a deal with the devil.
What a fucking joke.
Here are a few other examples of Burge's fakes, just for proof. Now they are "graded." Wonderful. This is an example of a real one for those of you who are unfamiliar with how the cards are supposed to look. Here is one other. Here is the ebay search to show you just how many of these fakes there are.
Not familiar with these fakes.
ReplyDeleteHow do you know it's 100% fake?
love that the seller's name is "Bryce Harper."
ReplyDeleteBecause Peterson's auto looks like this for the 2007 rookie premieres, not like the one above. There is a huge difference.
ReplyDeleteBut if he's signing a bunch of cards, wouldn't they have changed between each one?
ReplyDeleteAgain, not familiar with this stuff but both look the same to me.
Mario, you will have to trust my expertise here, but here are a few things to look at:
ReplyDelete1)Slant is off
2)Pen points of start and stop are wrong
3)Fluidity of the autograph doesnt match the real ones
4)Burge's accounts have been selling cards like this that look exactly the same at alarming rates.
And why didn't Topps use one of those 3M security stickers?
ReplyDeleteAlso, Peterson signs with a practical violence in his signature. I have witnessed it first hand, there is no way to get an auto like the one on the card, perfect and even pen, signing the way he does.
ReplyDeleteA scam within another scam. What a wonderful world we live in. I'm glad that someone is spotting these fakes and getting the word out!
ReplyDeleteIt's fake. I've spent hundreds of hours staring at AP autos, and I promise you it's fake. If you compare it to most of the fake autos out there, it's a rather decent fake, but the trained eye can still tell.
ReplyDeleteI started staying away from PSA altogether once I heard the slabs were being faked. It's a shame really. This is the biggest problem in the hobby right now imo. Makes me sick.
I don't think that this is a fake slab and I also don't think that PSA graded this card. PSA slabs are notoriously easy to crack open with little to no damage to the slab. Chances are, a real RP auto came out of this slab and the fake one was inserted. The real auto can then be sent away to PSA and graded, put into a new slab and sent back. Rinse, repeat.
ReplyDeleteThat doesn't even resemble a 07 AP auto, I'd have to assume its a fake slap no one with any idea would say that is authentic.
ReplyDeleteWell, hate to tell you, but it looks like a PSA certified slab.
