Schooled.

These are School Colors autos to be inserted in 2009 Donruss Classics.

This example is why you do not use silver pens to do on card autos. These look like in person signatures done by a fan, rather than on card autos from a manufacturer. Listen, I love the fact that on card signatures are coming back, but holy fuck, who green-lighted the paint pens? Staedtler makes all sorts of great pens to use in this situation, there was no reason to use the big behemoths to get these signed like TTMs.

Bad form Donini, bad form.

  2. They had on card stuff in NT the last few years, but nothing as shitty as this crap.

  3. I totally agree - very ugly. That's a shame because the card design isn't bad. It would look very good with blue or black ink.

  4. i agree with dave...looks like a pretty good design, but that fugly pen is well just fugly. one bad thing i see they are doing is they arent being consistent with the design on those cards! as in with the fitting of the college logo on top of or in the pennant. already annoys me looking at it

  5. Yuck. At least the design is better than last year. Looks like a silver Crayola Marker from preschool. Eek.

  6. Topps is guilty as well. Another problem with the paint pens is that the paint can rub off on other cards while still in the pack. I was lucky enough to pull a Dwayne Wade autographed mini card from a rip card and the autograph was in silver paint pen. Some of the autograph had rubbed off onto the inside of the rip card. Not good.

  7. What a damn shame. You'd think one of the athletes would've said something. But I guess it just shows that a sig is a sig.

The worst auto I ever got was a Donruss Diamond Kings buy back auto of Ibanez in a blue Royals uniform. The auto was signed in blue sharpie over the uniform. Donruss likes to make you think I guess.
