First Images of Ultimate FB Hit The Web

One of the Blowout Cards forum users busted a case of Ultimate and posted the results and pics on the site, and I must say, I am impressed so far. The UD legends additions look like they could be everything that people want them to be, and the fact that all autos seem to be on card is amazing.

I also like the design, and I think after last year, anything is an improvement. The only thing that I dont really like that much is the addition of a swatch to the previously swatchless RC autos. That was unnecessary, and I think the previous ones were great just the way they were. No reason to overjersify them.

Overall, I think this product could be a home run if things turn out the way this break looks, and I have a feeling Exquisite will probably be the same.

Check it out!

  1. That Faulk sure is ugly....

Are all those on card autos?

  2. I like the faulk because I am a fan of the previous set it was based off of. If only they had bought back a few of the Paytons to include. That would be bomb.

  3. With the legends 97 cards, one has to ask the question - WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND DECIDED THAT BRIAN BOSWORTH SHOULD BE IN THE SET?

He may have been a great college player, but these are NFL cards and his NFL career stunk more than than an NBA dunk contest - and that's saying a lot. Why not put Heath Shuler in the set? I think his professional career was at least the equal of Bosworth's.

Whoever decided to put Bosworth in the set should have exploratory surgery on their ass - to see if they can find their head up there.

  4. hey Alex do you know the history of the 1997 set? have you seen the checklist? Bosworth actually fits quite well..they were not all Montana, Brown and Payton types

  5. Yes, I know that the 1997 set had some "questionable" choices, but a guy who played for 2 seasons? I mean Lynn Dickey for example may be a stretch, but at least he played 13 seasons, not 2 seasons where he did absolutely nothing like "the Boz" did.

I have no problem with Tom Rathman being in the set, even though he is not a fan favourite or someone who will end up being in the hall of fame, because he was very good at his position and helped his team win. Bowsorth wasn't good at his position, and didn't help his team win.

On top of that, given that this was an extension to the 1997 set, with only a very limited number of playera added, they couldn't come up with someone better? I mean, from the 1990s you could put in Greg Lloyd, or (as much as I dislike him) Kevin Greene.

  6. well, just because you are not a fan of Bosworth or his NFL career does not mean he is not collectable nor does it mean he does not have a fan base that would appreciate a 1997 legends card

What fan base? He has a fan base?

Well I guess maybe those people who thought Sarah Palin would make a good Vice-President.....

This is a card set of NFL legends - no one in their right mind (which excludes all those Sarah Palin supporters out there) would believe Bosworth is an NFL legend. Hell, he was barely an NFL player let alone a legend. Now if the set was NFL busts....
