Today Is The Saddest Day Of The Year

The end of the NFL season is today. So begins 8 months of an absolute football-less barren wasteland. Although today's Super Bowl should be a good time to watch, I am now left with only the draft until September. That sucks.

As for the cards, we still have Ultimate and Exquisite left on the block, but even that is pretty sparse until July when the 2009 products hit their stride. Man, at least my wallet will love me for a while.

I do have Baseball season to look foward to, for sure, but as you all well know, the NFL is my sport.

Today, I have the Steelers pretty much destroying the Cardinals for my prediction, but I have also said that for every one of the Cardinals' playoff games. I really hope that Fitz gets a title, as he is a Minnesotan who I have watched play as far back as his High School days with Holy Angels.

Im going to predict 27-14 Steelers, as their ridiculous Defense only needs to worry about the passing game, and the Cardinals D will have their hands full with Willie Parker, Hines Ward, and a driven Ben Roethlisberger wanting to improve on his awful performance during his first Bowl win.

  1. Warned is good against pressure, and all out blitz will open up the passing game. I think that if Warner can manage to throw as good as he usually does under pressure, ie. avoiding Troy Polamalu, Cards will win. Also Cards running game has been pretty decent in the playoffs.

  2. As a Minnesotan, I am appalled that yo aren't a hockey fan. Isn't it the state of hockey?

  3. Thank goodness the Steelers won. The thought of Turd Warner getting up and thanking god for the victory and talking about how the cardinals victory was part of god's plans were enough to make me want to throw up.

Tomlin, Rooney, Holmes, Big Ben - not one of them thanked god (as far as I could hear), which was so great to hear (or not hear as the case was).

Here's the thing Osama Bin Warner - IF there is a god (and that is a BIG if) he/she/it doesn't give a rat's ass about you winning the Super Bowl, and if you had won it, it certainly wasn't part of some divine master plan. It's a freaking football game!

However if you (and anybody else) are stupid enough to believe that crap, then maybe you should look at your loss as a sign from god - possibly that he/she/it doesn't want to be associated with your Christian fundamentalism, and didn't want you to use a Super Bowl victory as a platform to espouse that nonsense.

Now, back to celebrating the Steelers victory!

  4. Couldn't agree more.

If he does make it to the NFL as a high draft pick Quarterback, hopefully he will get his ass handed to him on a platter (and there is a good chance he will). Then we see if he thinks god is blessing him.
